SUBJECT – NATURE SCIENCE
WELCOME


INTRODUCTION

The computer has brought new educational area in schools, which enables the development and the use of new ways and methods of learning and teaching. Researches show that in nature science classes the computer is mainly used for motivation and repetition, and less for teaching new material. For the seventh year now, pedagogical advisors have been introducing the use of computer in classroom as a part of curricular renewal. The computer has become their everyday need. The question is not anymore whether to use computer or not, but where, when and how to use it to make it the means of improving learning and teaching.

“The real power of computers will be shown, when they became tool in the pupils hands.”

We must, however, emphasize that we used computer in learning and teaching science topic to reach learning standards in nature and technical science classes. We have planned, carried out and evaluated educational work in nature science topic in a way which included modern concepts and strategies of teaching and learning in nature science classes, the way that is supposed with curricular renewal.


The teachers training are working in teams.

The computer has been used in the pupil’s hands, in the process to acquire knowledge.

THE DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPUTER PROGRAM
“AN APPLE”


It is designed for pupils in first three classes of primary school. Texts are short, clear, understandable and written with block letters. A personified apple, which reads all of the text in a loud voice, guides us through the program. Program is rich with illustrations and animations, which intuitively represent livelong processes in nature, which we cannot observe. These animations give the opportunity of better understanding nature science phenomena and concepts.


Why should pupils use this program?
Through absorbing and interactive way it guides them through the entire development cycle of an apple. It represents the beginning of the existence, growth and decay of an apple on audio-visual way. Pupils are stimulated to do creative work in nature and are offered amusement at games. With simultaneous listening and reading it helps them in developing reading ability and enables solving simple problems.


Why should a teacher use this program?
The computer program assures them the whole package of e-teaching contents, which can be used in the curriculum. To build it in the system, the teacher should follow the intensity of the work of the pupil. It is designed to variegation work with pupil and to support teachers at their everyday work.
